The scene has constantly changed, with new generations of players rising and falling, but only a few have managed not just to reach the top, but to turn their careers into a legacy of trophies, records, and historic achievements. These players didn’t just win tournaments — they shaped the meta, set new standards of play, and became the faces of entire eras. Xyp9x

Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth – a veteran of Astralis and a four-time Major champion (Atlanta 2017, London 2018, Katowice 2019, Berlin 2019). He won 28 titles. It’s worth noting that some sources report different numbers – up to 38 wins, including smaller events. Xyp9x played for Astralis from 2016 to 2023, where he helped the team secure four consecutive Major titles.

In March 2024, Xyp9x retired from professional play and became an assistant coach for the German organization MOUZ. His signing in a coaching role was officially announced on March 16, 2024. Therefore, during the 2024–2025 season, Xyp9x was already working as a coach. Before transitioning, he was known as one of the most reliable lurkers and clutch players in Astralis history.

Nicolai “device” Reedtz – one of the most decorated players in CS:GO history. He has won 30 titles (including 4 Majors). As part of Astralis, device secured victories at ELEAGUE Atlanta 2017, FACEIT London 2018, PGL Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Berlin 2019. Astralis, led by device, also became the first team in history to win the Intel Grand Slam Season 1. In addition, device has won numerous ESL Pro League, IEM, and DreamHack Masters events.

In January 2026, device signed with 100 Thieves, where he reunited with his former Astralis teammate gla1ve, now serving as a coach. Before that (2022–2025), he returned to Astralis and earlier played for NiP (2021–2022). device continues to compete as an AWPer for 100 Thieves, setting a high standard for the next generation of CS2 players.

dupreeh

Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen – a legendary Danish player known for winning 5 Majors and attending every CS:GO Major. He has 32 titles in total (5 of them Majors). His Major victories include Atlanta 2017, London 2018, Katowice 2019, Berlin 2019, and Paris 2023, along with Intel Grand Slam Season 1. In addition, dupreeh has won numerous ESL Pro League, BLAST, IEM, and DreamHack events.

dupreeh officially retired on June 22, 2025, announcing his decision at the BLAST Austin Major 2025. His last team during 2024–2025 was Team Falcons. Before that, he spent many years with Astralis (2016–2021) and later played for Vitality (2022–2023), with short stints in Heroic and the Danish organization Preasy. After retiring, dupreeh plans to move into game development.

ropz

Robin “ropz” Kool – a young star from Estonia. As of 2026, he has 32 titles (including 3 Majors). He won PGL Major Antwerp 2022, BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, and back-to-back Intel Grand Slams (Seasons 4 and 5). In addition, ropz has claimed victories at IEM Chengdu 2024, IEM Cologne 2022, IEM Sydney 2023, and other prestigious events.

Since January 2025, ropz has been playing for Team Vitality. The transfer was officially announced on January 10, 2025, following a three-year run with FaZe Clan (2022–2024). During his time in FaZe, ropz won PGL Antwerp 2022 and several major LAN tournaments. At Vitality, he continues his career as a leading AWPer, aiming for even more championship titles.

apEX

Dan “apEX” Madesclaire – an experienced captain for the French team Team Vitality. Over his career, he has won 38 titles (including 4 Majors). His most notable victories include BLAST Paris Major 2023, BLAST Austin Major 2025, IEM Katowice 2025, StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, and the Intel Grand Slam (Season 5). In addition, apEX has won numerous BLAST, IEM, ESL Pro League, and other major LAN events.

Vitality — The Next Victim? How the Greatest Eras in CS History Died

Currently, apEX plays for Team Vitality as the In-Game Leader (IGL). He joined the team in October 2018 and remains on the roster to this day. According to HLTV, his current contract runs until the end of 2026. His previous teams include EnVy (2015–2017), G2 Esports (2017–2018), and others. In Vitality, apEX continues to expand his trophy collection and leads the team in the 2026 CS2 season.
