The Cologne Major Shop Closes September 29
The Cologne Major Shop Closes September 29: What to Buy Before the Tokens Die

There are now less than two weeks left for Counter-Strike 2 fans who want to purchase things associated with the IEM Cologne 2026 Major. It has been officially announced by Valve that the Cologne 2026 Major Shop is going to be available up until September 29, 2026. After this, any new tournament stickers or other things are not going to be accessible directly from the shop anymore.
This is particularly noteworthy since there is an unusual economy model used with this Cologne Major. For the first time ever, Valve decided not to use random sticker capsules but rather to purchase specific stickers with tokens. It may be wise before the shop shuts down to understand what is actually worth buying and where you can find it cheaper on the secondary market.

How the Cologne 2026 Major Shop Works
The store was opened on May 21, simultaneously with the Cologne Major tournament items. Users may select the sticker or autograph of one particular team, put it into the cart, and purchase it by using tokens.
Minimum token spending amounts to 100 tokens for $0.99. At the same time, users are not allowed to save large sums of money beforehand, since the system offers to sell the required number of tokens right away.
The main feature is dynamic pricing. The higher the demand for a particular sticker compared with other items, the more tokens it begins to cost. After a certain number of sales, Valve recalculates the prices.
There is also a small form of buyer protection. If the price of a purchased sticker drops by at least 25 tokens within 24 hours, the difference is automatically returned to the account balance one week later.
After the Major ended, the shop lineup expanded. Valve added Falcons championship autographs and Highlight Charms featuring moments from the tournament. Falcons themselves won the first Major title in the organization’s history after defeating FURIA 3:0 in the grand final.
Then, on July 28, Valve introduced the Ranked Series - a separate sticker line whose designs reflect each team’s final placement at the Major. Valve acknowledged that the original dynamic pricing system did not always produce reasonable prices, so the Ranked Series launched with a lower price base. At the same time, the developers announced that the shop would close on September 29.
Is Buying Holo Stickers Actually Worth It Right Now?
According to tracking data from the in-game shop and Steam Market, many popular Event Holo stickers were cheaper on the secondary market in September than directly from Valve.
For example, FURIA Holo was priced at around $25.44 in the shop, while its latest recorded Steam sale was around $19. The gap was even larger for BetBoom Holo: approximately $17.21 in the shop compared with a recent sale at $10.77.
Legacy Holo showed a similar situation, costing around $10.96 in the shop while the latest Steam sale was closer to $7.71.
So the idea of simply “buying a Holo before the shop closes and making an instant profit” does not really work. Every sticker needs to be evaluated separately.
Simple Math: How Much Does a Sticker Need to Rise?
A simple benchmark can help.
Steam charges a standard 5% fee, while Counter-Strike items are subject to an additional 10% game-specific fee. Because of rounding, the exact formula is slightly more complicated, but for a rough estimate, the total can be treated as approximately 15%.
If a sticker costs $10 in the in-game shop, its Steam price would need to reach roughly $11.50 for the amount received after fees to come close to the original purchase price.
That is why buying an item for $10 in the shop when it already trades for $7-8 on the market, hoping for a jump immediately after September 29, is a risky strategy. The market would first need to close the existing price gap.
What Looks More Interesting Before the Shop Closes?

Ranked Series Holo stickers look more interesting than the standard Event Series mainly because they launched later. The Ranked Series appeared only at the end of July, while the original Cologne 2026 stickers had been available since May. That means they had a much shorter window for supply to build up.
Some Ranked Holo stickers already have relatively few listings on Steam. For certain autographs, the number of active listings can be measured in single digits or dozens.
However, low supply alone does not guarantee price growth. It makes more sense to focus on recognizable teams and players whose stickers are actually used in crafts.
Falcons Champions Autographs are another logical category. These items are directly tied to the organization’s first Major title. Valve released separate championship Paper, Holo, Foil, and Gold autographs after the final. That historical connection to the tournament winner may support collector interest, although the most expensive Gold versions currently carry significantly higher price risk.
Souvenir-O-Matic is interesting for a different reason. Cologne 2026 allows players to take a regular or already existing Souvenir weapon, select a completed match and player, and convert the item into a Souvenir featuring gold team, player, and map stickers. Any stickers already applied to the weapon are removed.
For collectors, this can be more appealing than speculating on an individual Holo sticker. You can create a specific Souvenir tied to a favorite player, map, or match while the system is still available.
Finally, Highlight Charms are worth considering. Valve released ten gameplay moments for each of the Major’s six stages, as well as a separate moment featuring Falcons lifting the trophy. This is a more unusual type of commemorative item than another standard team sticker.
What I Would Not Buy Blindly
The biggest mistake before the deadline is assuming that anything disappearing from the shop will automatically increase in price.
Cologne 2026 has already shown the opposite. After the initial hype, many sticker prices dropped significantly. By mid-September, some expensive items were trading dozens of percent below their summer highs.
Before buying, it makes sense to check three things:
the token price inside CS2;
the current Steam price and buy orders;
the number of listings and actual sales volume.
If Steam is already 20-40% cheaper than the in-game shop, there is little reason to buy the same item with tokens just because September 29 is approaching.
Falcons Champions Autograph Stickers & Highlight Charms: Investment Verdict
What to Buy Before September 29
If your goal is collecting, the most interesting options appear to be Ranked Holo stickers from popular teams and players, Falcons championship autographs, Highlight Charms, and custom Souvenir items created in advance.
If your goal is to make money after the shop closes, there is no universal list. I would focus primarily on items with a short sales window, limited current supply, and consistent demand for crafts rather than simply chasing the most expensive Gold or Holo stickers.
One more important point: Valve has officially confirmed the shop closing date, but it has not separately stated that any remaining tokens on an account will literally be deleted on September 29. Since their future use after the Cologne Shop closes has not been confirmed, it is safer not to leave an unused balance.
There is not much time left before the deadline. It is better to prepare your purchases in advance: compare Valve’s shop with the secondary market, choose Ranked Series stickers, commemorative items, or Souvenirs, and finish your purchases before September 29 - without panic-buying on the final day.
