The president of 100 Thieves, Jakob “Maelk” Toft-Andersen, has revealed the approximate amount the organization invested in building its current CS2 roster. According to him, the club lost around $400,000 on the lineup.

During a conversation with esports analyst Thorin, Maelk commented on the financial side of roster building with a touch of irony:

Maelk: “If you want to lose $2.5 million → BC.Game.”

Thorin: “How much did 100 Thieves lose?”

Maelk: “I think around $400,000.”

Compared to the massive buyouts and multi-million-dollar contracts often seen on the modern Counter-Strike scene, 100 Thieves’ investment appears relatively modest.

After finishing second at the fifth season of the DraculaN tournament, 100 Thieves significantly improved their standing in the VRS rankings. The squad climbed to 35th place in Valve’s ranking system, strengthening their position for future invitations to larger events.
