When Does Fortnitemares 2026 Start and End?

Fortnitemares 2026 runs from October 1 through November 1, 2026. This year's event follows the theme "The Game Is Cursed."

The Halloween celebration spans several game modes, including Battle Royale, Reload, and Horde Rush. Players can explore spooky locations, encounter new enemies, discover themed weapons, and complete special challenges.

One of the biggest highlights is the Nitemare Quests system, which allows players to earn exclusive cosmetics without spending V-Bucks.

FNAF x Fortnite: Which Skins Are Available?

FNAF x Fortnite

One of the most exciting Fortnitemares 2026 collaborations brings the legendary animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's into Fortnite.

Four iconic characters join the lineup:

  • Freddy Fazbear: The famous animatronic bear and face of the franchise.

  • Bonnie the Rabbit: The terrifying guitar-playing rabbit.

  • Chica the Chicken: The recognizable yellow animatronic.

  • Foxy the Pirate: The pirate fox with his signature metal hook.

The outfits feature battle-damaged styles, giving players additional ways to customize their Halloween looks. Matching cosmetics are also available to complete the collection.

Players should check the in-game Item Shop for current V-Bucks prices, as leaked pricing information may be inaccurate.

Interestingly, the animatronics aren't limited to cosmetic appearances. Players can encounter FNAF bosses on the island, defeat them, and temporarily take control of their mechanical bodies.

How to Unlock Jack-A-Nape for Free: All 26 Quests

Jack-A-Nape Fotnite

Jack-A-Nape is the main free reward in Fortnitemares 2026. This creepy mechanical circus monkey features a distinctive Halloween-inspired design.

To unlock the outfit, players must complete 26 Nitemare Quests. Additional cosmetic rewards become available as players reach specific milestones.

Here's the complete reward breakdown:

  • 2 quests: Jack-A-Nape Banner.

  • 5 quests: The Clockwork Ape Loading Screen.

  • 8 quests: Wind-Up Key Back Bling.

  • 12 quests: Monkey Biz Emoticon.

  • 16 quests: Jack-A-Nape Spray.

  • 20 quests: Jack's Tambourine Pickaxe.

  • 24 quests: Tambourine Surprise Emoticon.

  • 26 quests: Jack-A-Nape Outfit.

How to Complete the Quests Faster

The easiest approach is to switch between different game modes depending on your objectives.

Battle Royale is ideal for exploring Halloween locations, using themed weapons, and completing combat challenges. Horde Rush offers opportunities to eliminate large numbers of monsters, while Reload provides additional ways to progress through available objectives.

New challenges were released gradually throughout the event. By mid-October, enough quests had become available to unlock Jack-A-Nape.

Check your Quests tab after each match and avoid leaving everything until the final day.

What's New in Fortnite Update v42.30?

What's New in Fortnite Update v42.30?

Fortnite update v42.30 introduced major gameplay changes, including new weapons, supernatural abilities, and dangerous enemies.

One of the biggest additions is the Bonerattler SMG, a submachine gun capable of revealing opponents through walls while aiming.

Several fan-favorite Halloween items have also returned:

  • Pumpkin Launcher: A rocket launcher that fires explosive pumpkins.

  • Witch Broom: A magical broom used for quick mobility.

  • Wood Stake Shotgun: A powerful shotgun designed for close-range combat.

  • Dual Fiend Hunters: Dual weapons that are particularly useful against monsters.

Freddy Krueger also appears as a boss in Nightmare Neighborhood. Defeating him rewards players with Freddy's Nightmare, a powerful claw weapon that allows users to teleport toward enemies and launch devastating attacks.

Another major feature is the introduction of cursed abilities called Overrides.

Spooky Sprinter grants invisibility while sprinting, Berserk increases damage when health is low, and Spooky Prop Hunt allows players to disguise themselves as environmental objects.

These abilities introduce new strategies and make Halloween matches even more unpredictable.

New Game Modes and Halloween Map Changes

Several areas of the Fortnite island have received Halloween-themed changes, including Freaky Fields and Nightmare Neighborhood.

The popular Horde Rush mode has also returned. In this cooperative experience, teams fight waves of monsters, collect resources, upgrade their equipment, and attempt to defeat the final boss.

Reload received additional Halloween content on October 8, introducing Nightmare Island with themed changes and new challenges.

These updates give players more ways to enjoy the event beyond traditional Battle Royale matches.

Predator, Slender Man, and Other Halloween Collaborations

Five Nights at Freddy's isn't the only major crossover featured during Fortnitemares 2026.

The Halloween celebration also includes characters and content inspired by A Nightmare on Elm Street, Beetlejuice, Slender Man, Hazbin Hotel, Hollow Knight, and other franchises.

Predator: Badlands has attracted particular attention. Early information about the collaboration circulated as rumors, but Epic Games subsequently included the franchise in its official October collaboration lineup.

However, specific Item Shop release dates and V-Bucks prices for individual cosmetics should still be verified separately.

Players should avoid treating unconfirmed leaks as official announcements.

How to Level Up Fast in Fortnite

Is Fortnitemares 2026 Worth Playing?

Fortnitemares 2026 offers plenty of reasons to jump back into Fortnite. From legendary horror characters and powerful new weapons to Halloween-themed game modes and exclusive cosmetics, the event delivers something for almost every player.

The biggest highlight is the opportunity to unlock Jack-A-Nape without purchasing the Battle Pass. All you need to do is complete 26 event quests.

Don't wait until the last minute to finish your challenges, especially if you want to collect every available reward.
