Gamma Doppler Guide: Emerald & Phases 1-4, Prices
Gamma Doppler Guide: Emerald & Phases 1-4, Prices

Gamma Doppler is one of the most recognizable green knife finishes in CS2. It is easy to identify by its metallic blade with shifting green, turquoise, lime, and dark areas. However, the name Gamma Doppler covers five variants at once: Emerald and the regular Phases 1-4.
The price depends not only on the knife model and condition. The phase, pattern seed, amount of green on the play side, and the overall look of the blade under lighting also play a major role. Two knives of the same model and phase can look different and sell with different overpay.

What Is Gamma Doppler?
Gamma Doppler appeared in 2016 and is available on ten knife models: Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit, M9 Bayonet, Butterfly Knife, Bowie Knife, Falchion Knife, Huntsman Knife, and Shadow Daggers.
The first five models can be obtained from the Gamma Case and Gamma 2 Case. The others appear in the Operation Riptide Case and Dreams & Nightmares Case. Valve officially confirmed that the Dreams & Nightmares Case uses Gamma knives from the Operation Riptide Case as rare special items.
The float range for Gamma Doppler is 0.00-0.08, so the knives are available only in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Minimal Wear occupies a very narrow range of 0.07-0.08.
It is important to distinguish between the phase and the pattern number. The phase determines the main color palette of the finish, while the number from 0 to 999 determines the placement of colors and the pattern on the blade. This means a pattern number cannot turn Phase 1 into Phase 2, but it can make a specific knife greener, darker, or more evenly colored.
Gamma Doppler Emerald

Emerald is a separate ultra-rare version, not a variation of Phase 4. The blade is almost fully covered in rich green shades without large black or turquoise areas. This uniform emerald color makes Emerald the most expensive variant in the family.
The seed still affects the placement of waves and the evenness of the finish. On Karambit, corner quality is also evaluated, while on M9 Bayonet and Butterfly Knife, buyers pay attention to the amount of bright green on the large play side.
Gamma Doppler Phase 1

Phase 1 is usually considered the darkest phase. The blade is dominated by dark areas mixed with green, turquoise, and sometimes blue-purple reflections. In CS2, the finish became brighter, but it still keeps noticeable contrast.
This phase fits dark and black-green inventories well. It usually costs less than the more desirable Phase 2, so it allows players to get a Gamma Doppler without the maximum overpay.
Gamma Doppler Phase 2

Phase 2 stands out with a large amount of bright neon green and turquoise. There are usually fewer dark areas, so the best examples can visually come close to Emerald.
Phase 2 is most often associated with unofficial terms such as Max Green and Green Galaxy. These names are used for seeds with especially successful green distribution. There is no single official table for all models: the same pattern can look different on Karambit, M9 Bayonet, and Butterfly Knife.
Gamma Doppler Phase 3

Phase 3 combines green shades with noticeable blue and turquoise areas. The borders between colors are usually more visible than on Phase 4, so the finish looks colder and more contrasted.
This phase works well with turquoise, blue, and green loadouts. It is often cheaper than Phase 2, although some attractive seeds can still sell with extra overpay.
Gamma Doppler Phase 4

Phase 4 mixes green, turquoise, and lime shades with smoother transitions. Under bright lighting, the blade looks especially saturated, which keeps this phase popular for colorful loadouts.
Phase 4 is sometimes called “almost Emerald,” but it still has turquoise, lime, and dark areas. A true Emerald remains a separate variant with an almost fully green finish.
What Affects Gamma Doppler Price?
The first factor is the knife model. Butterfly Knife, Karambit, and M9 Bayonet are significantly more expensive because of their popular shapes and animations.
Next come the phase and seed. Emerald almost always receives the highest price. Among regular phases, greener Phase 2 examples and strong Phase 4 variants often carry additional value.
Float is especially important for collectors, although Gamma Doppler usually keeps its pattern well even near the Minimal Wear limit. For Karambit, the blade corner is checked separately. StatTrak can increase rarity, but it does not always improve liquidity: there are usually fewer buyers for expensive StatTrak versions.
Approximate Gamma Doppler Prices
The prices below are approximate and do not include rare seed overpay.
The most affordable options are Shadow Daggers: regular phases cost around $100-140, while Emerald is around $220-350. Gut Knife can be found for $150-270, while Emerald costs around $450-550. Bowie, Falchion, and Huntsman knives with Phases 1-4 are roughly in the $180-440 range, while their Emerald versions cost around $600-850.
Flip Knife Gamma Doppler costs around $420-700, while Emerald is around $1,300-2,000. A regular Bayonet usually sits between $530-1,800, while Emerald is typically around $1,800-2,200.
In the premium segment, M9 Bayonet with regular phases costs around $1,300-2,000, Karambit — $1,800-3,000, and Butterfly Knife — $1,900-3,000. Emerald sharply increases the price: M9 Bayonet costs roughly $6,900-8,500, Karambit — $7,800-9,800, and Butterfly Knife — $7,800-10,000. Rare float, StatTrak, or an especially strong seed can increase these amounts.

How to Check Gamma Doppler Before Buying
Do not choose a knife only by the phase name. Open it through the inspect link and check the play side, wear level, pattern number, green distribution, and how the blade looks under different lighting.
If the seller mentions Max Green, Green Galaxy, or a rare seed, compare the item with current examples for that exact model. Overpay is better confirmed by real sales, not only by the description in the listing.
