Counter-Strike co-creator Minh Le, better known in the community as Gooseman, has confirmed that the cryptocurrency $GOOSE is indeed connected to his name. According to the developer, the posts about the coin that appeared on his Twitter account were not the result of a hack.
Gooseman verified his identity during a short video call with a journalist from Dust2.us. During the conversation, he explained that the idea for the meme coin came from a Twitter user known as Momo. The user proposed creating a coin dedicated to Gooseman in order to financially support the original creator of Counter-Strike, arguing that Valve had not fully compensated him for his contribution to the legendary FPS.
Gooseman agreed to the idea under one key condition — he would not own any of the tokens and would not be involved in managing the project. However, he did confirm that he has already received a “significant” amount of money from the creator of the coin. According to Gooseman, the funds will partly be used to support the development of his upcoming game Alpha Response.

The Counter-Strike creator also said he does not plan to actively promote $GOOSE through his Twitter account or other channels, even though he does not object to the existence of the coin. He described crypto speculation as just another form of speculation, similar to trading skins or stocks, and emphasized that investors should be aware of the risks involved.
At the same time, concerns within the community remain. Some users have raised fears about a potential rug pull, a scenario where the creators of a crypto project disappear with investors’ funds.
