New CS2 Update Released: Expanded Tools for Map Creators

Valve has released another update for Counter-Strike 2, focusing on content creation tools and improvements to the game’s technical systems. The patch size is 61.9 MB.
The main addition is the expansion of functionality for Steam Workshop maps. Custom projects can now store up to 1 MB of data. Support for the Instance.SetSaveData and Instance.GetSaveData functions allows creators to write information that syncs via Steam Cloud and remains saved even after the game is reinstalled. By default, the limit is restricted, but it can be adjusted using the sv_workshop_map_save_data_max_filesize_mb command.
This update opens new possibilities for authors of RPG modes, story-driven quests, and training maps, enabling full progress-saving systems.
Valve also introduced synchronization of training materials for the maps de_ancient and de_ancient_night. Grenade lineups and guides created for one version of the map can now be used on the other.
In addition, the developers updated the damage processing system. The toolkit now includes hitgroup-based damage analysis functions, a new IGNORE_ARMOR flag for weapons that bypass armor, and expanded input state tracking capabilities. A bug that caused CSDamageTypes to be exported under an incorrect name has also been fixed.

Localization files were updated as well. While the patch is primarily aimed at map and mod developers, the changes lay the groundwork for more advanced custom game modes in the future.
