CS2 Update Fixes Bugs and Tweaks Anubis

Valve released a small Counter-Strike 2 update overnight on February 5, bringing several bug fixes and minor adjustments to the game. While the patch is compact, the changes focus on improving stability, spectator experience, and gameplay consistency on Anubis.

The biggest adjustments in this update target Anubis, a map that continues to receive fine-tuning after the transition to Source 2. This time, Valve focused on collision models and grenade behavior — two areas that are especially important for competitive play.

On Anubis, developers adjusted collision models around the new drop area to prevent players from passing through geometry. Although the issue did not occur frequently, it had the potential to break rounds and create unfair situations.

Valve also updated collision around the pathway from B site to Canal. Previously, grenades could sometimes pass through map geometry, leading to unpredictable utility behavior. In a competitive shooter where precise lineups and consistency are crucial, this fix should make grenade usage more reliable.

In addition to map changes, Valve resolved two technical issues. The first fix addresses a spectator mode bug that caused first-person animations to reset when switching between players. This problem affected viewers, analysts, and content creators, making the update particularly important for the esports scene.

The second fix targets performance. In rare cases, physics calculations far from the map’s origin caused performance issues and FPS drops. With this bug resolved, players should experience improved overall stability.

Even though the update is small, it continues Valve’s ongoing effort to polish Counter-Strike 2 through targeted fixes that improve gameplay, performance, and the viewing experience.
