The participant list was formed after the VRS ranking update on June 1. All eligible teams accepted their invitations. Among them are former tournament champions Natus Vincere and The MongolZ. The Mongolian squad received a regional invitation, as did M80, FURIA, Legacy, TYLOO, and Wildcard.

Lynn Vision secured a separate spot at the tournament after qualifying for the Esports World Cup through their victory at the Hero Esports Asian Champions League. Four more participants will be determined through the Esports World Cup Open Qualifier. It will take place on LAN in Paris from August 7 to 9, just a few days before the start of the main stage.
