The captain of Finn karrigan Andersen explained that the appearance of Alexander s1mple in FaZe Clan was initially considered a temporary solution rather than a long-term roster change.
He reportedly noted that the organization never intended to fully part ways with Helvijs broky, who had long been the team’s primary AWPer.
According to karrigan, the decision to bring in s1mple was made collectively and under circumstances where the team did not have a clear long-term plan in place. Within the roster, the move was described as an opportunity to test different lineup variations and evaluate how the team would perform without its usual sniper.
He also indicated that FaZe continued to trust broky and still saw strong potential in him. As he explained, the player was given roughly a two-month break in order to assess how the team would function in his absence and what changes this would bring to their overall performance.
It was also emphasized that broky had spent around five years in the lineup and had rarely been replaced during that time, so his temporary absence was viewed more as an experiment than a permanent decision about his future.

In the end, as karrigan reportedly stated, after competing with s1mple at IEM Dallas 2025 and the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, FaZe Clan decided not to buy out his contract from NAVI and instead brought broky back into the starting roster, effectively ending the experiment with changing the team’s AWPer role.
