A public conflict has erupted between Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and analyst Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović over the situation surrounding BC.Game and PGL Major Singapore 2026. The two exchanged harsh messages on social media after Valve granted the team an exception to the new regional VRS rules.
kassad criticized s1mple and BC.Game for trying to qualify for the Major through the Asian region. According to the analyst, a player of s1mple’s caliber should not be taking advantage of controversial aspects of the qualification system.

kassad Criticizes s1mple

Trifunović sharply criticized the Ukrainian AWPer and said the situation involving BC.Game looked especially bad considering s1mple’s past achievements.
“You used to be one of the greatest. Now look at yourself. Trying to make the Major by cheating and exploiting loopholes in the system. Pathetic sight. If you had any balls, you wouldn’t even try. But it’s in your DNA - it always has been. You fell off.”
Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović
The criticism came after BC.Game decided to move into the Asian VRS following changes to its roster. Valve later tightened the rules regarding regional switches, but the team contacted the developers and received a separate exception.
s1mple Responds to the Accusations
Kostyliev did not leave kassad’s comments unanswered. According to the player, he had no involvement in the decision to change regions and only learned about the situation after the move had already been agreed upon.
“Haha. It’s time for you to retire. I’ve got balls because I never even thought about changing regions before it happened. Meanwhile, your DNA is being the trash of this universe, constantly trying to get attention. Grow up, kid.”
Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev
s1mple therefore rejected the accusation that he personally tried to take advantage of the VRS rules to secure an easier route to the Major.

BC.Game Received an Exception From Valve
Valve previously officially allowed BC.Game to remain in the Asian region despite the new rule requiring a three-month period before changing regional affiliation.
The exception was granted specifically to the lineup of asap, Magisk, mzinho, s1mple, and Senzu. As a result, the team retained its ability to receive an invitation to PGL Major Singapore 2026 through the Asian VRS.
According to current calculations, BC.Game’s chances of reaching the tournament are above 90%, making Valve’s decision one of the most discussed developments in the race for the upcoming Major.
