Slaughter Pattern Guide: Diamonds, Angels & What They're Worth

CS2 Slaughter Knife Diamond and Angel Patterns

Slaughter is one of the classic red knife finishes in Counter-Strike 2. The blade is covered with a metallic pattern under a translucent red layer, while the exact placement of light and dark areas depends on the pattern seed. Because of this, shapes can appear on the surface that players call Diamond, Heart, Angel, Phoenix, Zebra, and other names.

It is important to understand that these are not official Valve variants. The names appeared within the community: players simply noticed familiar shapes in the abstract Slaughter pattern and gradually started ranking them by appearance and rarity. That is why two identical knives in the same condition can look different, and a particularly attractive pattern can sometimes add extra value.

Slaughter has a float range of around 0.01-0.26, so it is available only in Factory New, Minimal Wear, and Field-Tested. This also makes condition an important price factor: a clean FN copy is usually noticeably more expensive than FT.

What Is a Slaughter Pattern?

The pattern seed determines which part of the overall texture appears on a specific blade. The finish itself remains red and silver, but the position of the lines and shapes changes.

The final result also depends on the knife model. A large straight M9 Bayonet blade shows the pattern differently from a curved Karambit, while on a Butterfly Knife, the design is constantly visible in motion thanks to its animations. Because of this, the same type of shape can look much more attractive on one model than on another.

When evaluating a Slaughter knife, players usually look first at the play side - the side of the blade most often visible in hand.

Diamond, Heart, Angel, and Other Patterns

Rare Slaughter Pattern

The most famous pattern is Diamond. Light and dark lines form a shape that resembles a diamond. A full Diamond that is clearly visible and positioned closer to the center of the blade is especially valued.

The next popular option is Heart, where parts of the pattern form a heart-like shape. Even more interesting are Diamond & Heart combinations, as well as knives with several shapes on one blade. In traditional Slaughter pattern lists, Diamond, Heart, and their combinations usually occupy the highest positions.

Angel resembles a figure with open wings. Close to it is Phoenix - a similar pattern that is sometimes described as an upside-down Angel. These variants are recognizable, but they are usually valued below a strong Diamond or Diamond & Heart.

There are also names like Zebra, Dogbone, Face, Kitty, and others. Here, the boundaries become much more subjective: one player may see a specific figure, while another may see only a set of lines. That is why the pattern name alone does not automatically guarantee overpay.

Examples of Rare Slaughter Patterns

A good Diamond example is Butterfly Knife | Slaughter seed #22. The diamond shape is easy to read on the blade, so this pattern is often used as an example of an attractive Butterfly Diamond. For a Butterfly Heart, seed #734 is a useful reference.

For M9 Bayonet, known examples include #9 Angel, while #3 shows Phoenix. Thanks to the large blade surface, both figures are easy to distinguish. For Huntsman Knife, seed #19 is an Angel example, while for Bowie Knife, Phoenix can be seen on #175.

Bayonet has especially many known combinations. For example, #290 is considered a Diamond & Heart pattern. Other strong examples of this combination include #37, #120, #335, #402, and #666.

There are also more complex patterns. Bayonet seed #90 is often cited as an example of Double Diamond & Heart, while #2 is a Diamond & Double Heart. For such knives, what matters is not only the formal category, but also how clearly the shapes are visible directly on the blade.

How Much Is a Rare Slaughter Pattern Worth?

Slaughter does not have a fixed overpay system for rare patterns. On average, especially strong Diamond and Heart patterns can cost around 30-50% more than regular versions, while Angel or Phoenix overpay is more often in the 10-25% range. However, the final price always depends on the exact knife.

When evaluating a Slaughter knife, we look not only at the pattern name, but also at the model, condition, float, and pattern placement. The clearer the shape is on the play side and the closer it is to the center of the blade, the higher the chance of additional overpay.

For example, a full central Diamond is usually valued higher than a partial diamond near the edge. The same applies to Heart: a clear and well-positioned shape will be more interesting to collectors than a figure that is hard to notice during gameplay.

Slaughter Prices in 2026

As of August 2026, regular Slaughter knives have a very wide price range depending on the model.

More affordable options include Gut Knife | Slaughter at around $110, while Huntsman Knife is around $270. Flip Knife sits at roughly $300.

Bayonet | Slaughter costs around $390, Skeleton Knife around $430, and Talon Knife about $700.

In the premium segment, M9 Bayonet | Slaughter costs around $900, Karambit around $1,100, and Butterfly Knife around $1,500, depending on condition. A rare Diamond or a strong combination of shapes can cost more than these base values.

How to Check a Slaughter Knife Before Buying

Do not buy a knife only because the seller wrote Diamond or Angel in the listing title. First, check the pattern seed and inspect the knife in-game.

Pay attention to the play side, how complete the shape is, its position, and the float. This is especially important for expensive Butterfly, Karambit, and M9 Bayonet knives: the difference between a regular pattern and a truly attractive Diamond can reach hundreds of dollars.

It is also better to compare the seed with several current pattern databases. Slaughter does not have the same strict and widely accepted evaluation system as some Blue Gem patterns, so the appearance of the exact copy often matters more than the category name.
