Counter-Strike 2 Releases New “Dead Hand” Collection With Gloves and Skins

Counter-Strike 2 Dead Hand collection skins and gloves update

The developers of Counter-Strike 2 have released a major update that introduces a new item collection called Dead Hand. It includes 17 new weapon skins, as well as 22 new glove variants, which serve as the special items of the collection.

Access to the new collection is available through special Dead Hand Terminal items. These terminals can be obtained as part of the weekly drop, after which players will be able to open the collection and receive random items from the set.

The developers also emphasized that all skins from the Dead Hand collection were created by community authors, which continues Valve’s tradition of integrating community works into the official content of the game.

In addition to adding the new collection, the update also affected the Dust2 map. Initially, the developers introduced several changes:

  • changed the height of the box in mid, which is used to get onto short

  • fixed a pixel gap near the doors on long

In addition, the shape, textures, and height of the boxes at the “X” position in mid were changed.

However, a few hours after the release, Valve released another update, in which it reverted part of the changes, returning Dust2 to its previous state.

The new collection is also notable because gloves have not been added to Counter-Strike for more than five years. The last time such an update was released was in December 2020 together with Operation Broken Fang.

The size of the latest update was about 2 GB. The Dead Hand collection is expected to become one of the main sources of new skins and rare items for CS2 players in the near future.
