Tournament operator FISSURE has officially announced the cancellation of FISSURE Playground 3 in CS2, along with two summer events previously scheduled for 2026 and 2027. The decision was made due to logistical conflicts in the international tournament calendar.
The FISSURE Playground 3 tournament, originally set to take place from April 20 to April 26, 2026 in Shenzhen, has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.
According to the organizers, multiple alternative scenarios were considered, including potential rescheduling options in order to preserve the event. However, an overlap with another major tournament in South America made participation extremely difficult for teams. Travel time to China exceeds 36 hours, and the significant time zone difference would not allow players to properly recover and compete at the highest level.
FISSURE emphasized that maintaining competitive integrity and high production standards remains a priority, and hosting the event under such conditions would not meet their expectations.
In addition, FISSURE has decided to cancel two summer tournaments previously scheduled for July 13 to July 19, 2026 and July 12 to July 19, 2027.
The experience of hosting FISSURE Playground 1 showed that running tournaments during the players break period does not guarantee the level of competition and entertainment the organizer aims to deliver. During the off season, teams often make roster changes, take breaks, or skip certain events, which directly impacts overall tournament quality.
In 2025, FISSURE hosted two Playground events. The first tournament was won by Chinese powerhouse TYLOO, while the second event crowned Brazilian squad FURIA as champions.
Both events received positive feedback from the community and showcased strong competition, making the cancellation of the next edition particularly disappointing for fans.
FISSURE confirmed that all other previously announced tournaments will proceed as scheduled. Additional details about future Counter-Strike 2 events will be revealed in upcoming announcements.
The organizer thanked teams, partners, and the community for their continued support and stated that work on future CS2 tournaments is ongoing.
