EYEBALLERS Reach Playoffs as JW Ends 5-Year Wait

EYEBALLERS managed to beat FOKUS in a 2-1 score and successfully qualified for the PGL Bucharest 2026 Counter-Strike 2 playoffs. This was an extremely important moment for the Swedish player Jesper "JW" Wecksell, considering that he managed to qualify for the playoffs of such a tournament after five long years.

Speaking in an interview following the match, JW was clearly very happy about his team’s achievement and was especially delighted for his teammates as he considered it to be proof of how much they deserve. The team had been waiting for this success from the very beginning, but very few people from outside the team lineup believed in it.

“It feels very good [to make the playoffs]. I think nobody expected this except ourselves. I watch the young guys play in practice every day, and I know what they are capable of. I’m proud that they can show it to the whole world.”

The matchup against FOKUS proved to be very intense. On Inferno, EYEBALLERS found themselves behind with a score of 7-12, but they fought back to force a draw in overtime, taking the map 16-13. The standout player for the map was Ro1f, who ended up with 96 ADR and a rating of 1.44. In reply, FOKUS demonstrated confidence on Nuke, securing a 13-5 victory to level the series.

The game was settled on Dust2. After a tied first half at 6-6, EYEBALLERS dominated the half on the offensive side of things. The team went on a run of six consecutive rounds following the half switch, established a 12-6 lead, and concluded the map at 13-9.

This performance by EYEBALLERS marked their best accomplishment yet for 2026. The team has now won at least $62,500 in tournament earnings thus far, whereas JW’s participation in this playoffs became his first appearance at such a high-level event since cs_summit 7 that was held in January 2021.
