Vehicles May Be Coming to CS2 – Major Leak Discovered by Thour

The Counter-Strike 2 community may be looking at one of the biggest leaks in recent months. Dataminer Thour has uncovered new data inside the ai_basenpc.fgd file, strongly suggesting that vehicles could be coming to CS2.
This is not just about static props or map decorations. The discovered changes point toward fully interactive vehicles with gameplay functionality.
According to the leak, new hitgroups related to vehicles have been added. These include driver and passenger seats, as well as entry points. This implies that players may eventually be able to enter and use vehicles, introducing an entirely new layer of interaction that has never existed in traditional Counter-Strike gameplay.
Even more interesting is the level of detail in destructibility. The data references multiple breakable vehicle components, including doors, windows, headlights, taillights, wheels, the hood, and the windshield. This suggests a complex damage system, potentially allowing vehicles to be partially or fully disabled during gameplay.
All of these additions were reportedly introduced as part of the AnimGraph2 Beta update, a system tied to animations and object behavior within Source 2. This indicates that Valve could already be internally testing these mechanics.
The biggest question now is what this actually leads to. Could this be part of a future Operation, or is Valve preparing an entirely new game mode? The scope of the leak hints at something much larger than standard CS gameplay — possibly experimental modes, hybrid scenarios, or even sandbox-style experiences.
Counter-Strike 2 Receives New Update – Developers Continue Improving the Beta
Valve has not officially commented on the leak yet. However, if this information turns out to be accurate, Counter-Strike 2 might be heading toward one of the most significant gameplay evolutions in the history of the franchise.
