The developers of Counter-Strike 2 have announced that Cache will join the official Active Duty map pool for Premier Season 5, replacing Overpass. The information was shared by Valve through its official social media channels.
According to the developers, Premier Season 4 will conclude on July 6. To receive the Season 4 Premier Medal, players must have at least 25 Premier wins and a visible CSR rating by the end of the season.
Valve stated that the main change to the Active Duty map pool for Season 5 will be the replacement of Overpass with Cache. As a result, one of the most iconic maps in Counter-Strike history will officially return to the competitive map pool.
The Active Duty map pool changes for Season 5 are as follows:
Removed:
Overpass
Added:
Cache
It is worth noting that Valve has traditionally used the launch of a new Premier season to introduce significant gameplay updates. When Season 4 began, the developers reworked Anubis, updated knife sounds, improved player movement, and reduced the cost of submachine guns.

Premier Season 3 lasted for 188 days. Meanwhile, Cache returned to Counter-Strike 2 in April after a long-awaited comeback, but it was not included in the official competitive map pool at that time.
The addition of Cache to Active Duty could have a noticeable impact on the professional scene, as teams will now need to adapt their strategies and map preparation ahead of the new season.
