Luminosity Gaming Looking to Acquire Monte Players

North American organization Luminosity Gaming is continuing its efforts to return to the professional Counter-Strike 2 scene. According to a report by HLTV.org, the club is interested in signing four players from Monte's current CS2 roster.

According to the report, Luminosity does not plan to acquire the entire lineup. Danish player Jack Gizmy von Spreckelsen is reportedly in talks with another organization and is therefore not part of the potential deal. However, the identity of the interested club has not been disclosed.

In addition to the Monte players, Luminosity is also considering the signing of Lucas lux Menegini from Legacy. Rumors suggest that the Brazilian rifler was originally intended to be the centerpiece around which the new roster would be built. Earlier reports also claimed that both Luminosity Gaming and TSM had shown interest in acquiring the Team 3DMAX roster.

Back in April 2026, Luminosity Gaming owner Steve Buyaka Maida revealed on social media that the organization was exploring opportunities to re-enter the CS2 competitive scene. Since then, the club has been evaluating several options to assemble a roster capable of competing at the international level.

At the time of writing, neither Luminosity Gaming nor Monte has officially confirmed the negotiations. However, the potential acquisition of multiple Monte players could become one of the most notable roster moves of the offseason and mark Luminosity's full return to professional Counter-Strike 2 competition.
